21, print news to tv news

Story: Fanshawe Riot on Fleming Drive
Group Members: Larissa, Erika, and Tiffany
I think it turned out horrible. I felt very rushed and its not really what I wanted to do. It wasn't planned very well nor did we have a lot of time to film so I think it seems unorganized. I would've rather made it seem more funny then serious. When asking a resident living in the area of the riot I think they should've been more mad. "Those damn kids don't know what they're doing, they're wrecking everyones property and ruining their own lives. Serves them right if they don't get a job." I think that would've been a better approach but it's done with now and I don't think the video is that bad overall. It gets the point across, and that's what matters.

Technology. Whether its phones, computers, social network sites, ipods, playbooks, whatever, people can't seem to stay away from them for longer then ten minutes. Twenty years ago people had no idea how to use technology, half of it wasn't even invented and now people can't wait to get their hands on the newest iphone, or ipad. Why be on one website when you can be on ten. I don't see why people need to be on facebook, twitter, stumble upon, pinterest, tumbler and all that like really, what would we do if it weren't for technology? Maybe go play outside like everyone else did before technology came along? Technology is good in many ways but I think a lot of people just waste their time and money on it. Whenever you buy the "newest" gadget, there will always be something even better coming out next month. Who needs home phones, phone books, board games, or even normal books to read, you can do it all on apple products, e readers, phones, etc. When our generation has grand-children will they even learn how to write? Or will they just learn to type at age two or three.

18, reapperances

I don't know if i like the whole reappearance thing in concerts. It's kind of cool but I don't think it's right to just be able to see a concert of someone who's not even alive. It takes away from the real meaning and the people who actually had the chance to see that concert. I feel that by doing this it doesn't show the real talent they had. If so many things can be altered then how fake is the rest of the world. How do you know in a few years they won't do that for people who are still alive, then you could be paying for something that's not even real.

Facebook or stumble upon.

Facebook is very useful for finding people if you've lost contact with someone or met someone and have became friends with them. It's a good way to see what's going on and contact people. It tells you events coming up, and you can see pictures.

Stumble upon may have been one of the best things ever created. It gives me the best ideas for shopping, food, drawings, etc. I love how it narrows topics down and then you can just go through to see what you like and what you don't.

Miley Cyrus

I think the media is just looking for more stuff to gossip about. She doesn't look unhealthy, she's just making healthier choices in her life. There isn't anything she can do about her allergies and there certainly shouldn't be a problem if someone wants to go to the gym. If the media didn't put so much pressure on her in the first place about being overweight then I don't think she would feel the need to eat healthier and workout more. There is nothing wrong with loosing weight as long as you're doing it the right way, and I'd say she is.

#16 dixie chicked

I think the movie shut up and sing really shows that everyone should just stick up for what they believe in. The Dixie Chicks made a comment and never apologized for what they thought. Most celebrities faced with that decision would apologize so it didn't jeopardize their career. The Dixie Chicks stuck with their opinion rather than switching sides. I think more people need to realize how real they are instead of trashing them. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinions, just because they are/were famous it doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to voice what they think. You should't stop listening to them because you disagree with one statement.

#14 Censorship in the Media

I don't think there should be a whole lot of censorship in the media. Music is just another way of people expressing themselves. Artists are allowed to paint nude pictures, writers can write about things that wouldn't typically be in the media so why shouldn't musicians be able to express themselves just like the others. I think there should be limits on some songs when they are very violent (not only just the words but the way they're expressed as well) and when songs are directed to a young audience but are very sexual (Katy Perry's-California Girls). I don't think swear words should be censored because everyone has heard them and it just takes away from the song..we all know what they're really saying.

# 13 Eminem Interview

There shouldn't be limits on what you can do based on the colour of your skin. If you're good at something then follow that passion. He's writing about his life, so I don't think he should be punished for it. Yes, it is violent but you have to make things catchy so people will listen to it, that's part of the rap industry. If you rap about pink ponies and peace and all that stuff, people won't listen to it. He's not telling the children what to listen too. If parents don't want their children to listen to it then have rules in the household on what they can and can't listen to.
